- YOTREPS Frequently Asked Questions
What is the trial period for downloaded software?
30 days. After this time, unless the product is registered, it will
close down. The software contains a rapid Uninstall program which will remove all program
files if you decide that you don't want to register it.
Can I extend the
trial period?
Please
e-mail us to explain the problem.
How do I purchase and
register a downloaded program?
Some local agents carry copies in stock (see the
Links Page), but if there's not one in your area you order through the that
may have a copy already in stock. If not, you can order a copy through by the
order form, on this site, by
e-mail, or post to:
Pangolin Communications, PO
Box 14-778, Panmure, Auckland New Zealand
On receipt of an order your program pack will be
dispatched and includes a Registration disk with a small program that lifts
the 30 day trial period. With some programs, Validation Codes are available which
can be e-mailed so providing instant access and no need to
wait for the pack to arrive.
I'm already a registered user, how can I upgrade my current software?
If your software is written for
Windows 95 or later, there is no charge. Just download the lastest version from the link
appearing at the bottom of its product page. If this is a 30 day trial version, use your Registration
disk to remove the trial time restriction.
If your software is for Windows 3.1 or DOS, please
e-mail us for details of special offers to
upgraders.
I want to print TideComp tables but can only print graphs?
Some times this question is reversed, but you can use TideComp to print either tide
tables or tide graphs. Click the mouse in the tide graph region of the screen,
then select print from the file menu to print tide graphs.
Click the mouse in the tide table region of the screen and select print from the
file menu to print tide table
If in doubt, use print preview to find what's about to be printed before begining
the print process.
Why doesn't TideComp print tables with daylight saving time corrections?
The decision to apply a daylight saving correction is under under local government
control and though there are standard rules, these are not always followed. For this
reason it is difficult to predict exactly how this will be applied particularly during
the long validity period of the program. The great majority of published printed tables
print predictions for the Zone time of the port in question, which is the convention
followed by TideComp.
What are Zone times?
World time zones consist of 24 regions each spanning 15 degrees of longitude.
Time zone zero is centred on the Greenwich Meridian and throughout the whole region
the Zone Time is UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) which for most purposes is equivalent
to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
Time Zones to the west are named with whole numbers +1 to +11, and those to the
east are numbered -1 to -11. The 15 degree zone centred on the 180 degree meridian
is split into two 7.5 degree zones numbered +12 and -12. Throughout each Zone, the
time differs from UTC by the zone number of hours.
