Snow Petrel Down Under

This is a unique documentary from first-time director Matt Tucker. Snow Petrel Down Under chronicles the amazing journey of the Tucker family - Matt, his brother Ben and father Jon - as they push Ben's 34 foot yacht Snow Petrel to her limits on a journey south. This incredible voyage makes Snow Petrel the smallest vessel to have ever travelled to the windiest place on Earth, Commonwealth Bay, Antarctica.

The documentary reveals an intimate and unique view of this somewhat unusual family holiday. Additional features include an interview with Ben - the mastermind behind the trip, as well as a stunning image slideshow chronicling the journey.

Snow Petrel Down Under was screened as part of The Longest Night Film Festival, held at The State Cinema during the Antarctic Midwinter Festival from June 17 - 25. Due to overwhelming demand the documentary was still being screened at The State, over two months after the conclusion of the Festival.
